A filmmaker therefore is anyone who can effectively tell stories through frames in live motions(Films) or one who can effectively handle the making of visual images electronically(Movie). Anyone who can do this, is a producer or filmmaker
Also note, anyone who provide financial funding to be invested or for sponsorship in a film project can become a producer (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER)

Good communication is very essential, communicating vision,plans, Strategies and methods about what to Produce, Why Producing, how to Produce and who to consume. Producers without adequate communication are never lacking half results in their pursuits.
A producer most have financial ability to execute film projects or a good financial relationship for sponsorship. This is because no idea can be produce without money
Mistakes most intending filmmakers make is to think because they are Creative they will just jump on anyone and have it Produced.
The term Producer is more of responsibility especially financial responsibilities than a title. Most Producers often cut off from other business endeavors and rely on Filmmaking. Bitter truth money is made to make films than thinking of making films to make money.

PRODUCTION PHASES
Film production follows stages and processs which are group in 3 Levels. Intending producers and newbies most understand this stages so as to pay attention at each level
PRE PRODUCTION
Pre production phase is the proper take off foundation of every film process. Script acquisition, budget planning, Crew and Cast hiring, Location, Wardrobe and MU(Make up), Logistics etc.. are the components that consist to carry the weight
PRODUCTION
Production phase also known as field Production deals with Cast mobilisation, shooting process, hospitality and welfare of cast and crew, capturing every idea with proper recording as to move into the final stage
POST PRODUCTION
Post Production phase is about editing, sound score/audio Design, vfx, marketing and advertising and distribution to the final consumers. All this consist the post Production phase
However many producers get frustrated after a while of little or nothing made for themselves, reason being many didn't consider some factors Which would have determine their invested time and budget. Many invest heavily on what is supposed to be entertaining and at the end no commercial Value for return on investment.
To avoid pitfalls like this, Filmmakers intending or newbies should note purpose of Production as it range from
- Educational Purpose
- Entertainment purpose
- Business and commercial purpose
If you are producing for Educational or Entertainment purpose never invest heavily, such a project brings little or no returns.
Likewise using little or no budget for business/commercial project film is high level of mediocrity. Let your purpose determine your budget.
Marketing also another question to ponder on, what's your target audience, are you Producing for 18+, 13+, 40+, are you Producing for Cinema, tv commercial, Local distribution, OTT/VOD platforms?
